Reyndeer Games

It has been a while since I felt excited about a lot of new game releases. A few years ago I still had to choose which ones I wanted to buy. But now that all seems like a faraway past. There was even a moment that I started thinking, that I've outgrown gaming, nooooo! But apparently that's not the case, because this year I can finally say there's a list!

##First a little bit of history. Ever since I was little I loved gaming. And it wasn't really that common for girls to like gaming during the time I was growing up. Or at least I didn't know any other girls that were as obsessed as I was.

Just to name a few of my all time favourites: Monkey Island, Legend of Zelda, Broken Sword, Uncharted, Fable, Heroes of Might and Magic, Caesar, Leisure Suit Larry...

I think I can say that my most played genre's are:

  • adventure
  • point&click adventure
  • simulation
  • strategy
  • platform

Today that still hasn't change much. I try new things once in a while, but mostly remain true to my old preferences.

So when I saw this year's list of new releases, a few titles really got me excited!

##My most anticipated games for 2015

The Legend of Zelda (WiiU)

Not sure if this needs an introduction. But like many people, ever since the first Legend of Zelda game I played, I was immediately hooked on the series. So It's not a big surprise that this one's on the list.

Uncharted 4 (PS4)

One of my favourite Playstation games is this action-adventure third-person shooter series. The story is about Nathan Drake, a modern-day fortune-hunter who has to fight of bad guys and solve puzzles to get to the treasure and save the world from preventing it from falling into the wrong hands. This probably sounds like an Indiana Jones movie, that's because the game is very Indiana Jones like. So no wonder that they asked Harrison Ford to star in the Uncharted 3 commercial for Japan.

Yoshi's Wooly World (WiiU)

Yoshi's wooly world is what seems to be a follow up to the old Super Mario World: Yoshi's Island and that's one game I really enjoyed playing on my old SNES back in the days. The only difference is that now Yoshi seems to exist out of yarn. Which gives the game a funny spin, just watch the trailer you'll know what I mean.

In the previous Yoshi game you could eat things and then pop out eggs :D, guess what, you can still do that! And now even other Yoshi's! Those eggs can be thrown at your enemies to knock them out (not up). Or you can throw them at things you can't reach otherwise. Yoshi's Wooly World really seems like a happy and fun game for all ages.

Firewatch (pc)

Firewatch is a stunning looking, single player, first-person adventure game. I really am curious about the storyline and gameplay of this game. It will be available for windows, mac os and linux. So yay to me, I don't have to miss out on this one.

Syberia 3 (?pc)

If you're not familiar with the Syberia series, I'll fill you in. Benoît Sokal is a comic artist and art director for Microids, who is also the designer behind the Syberia series. And Syberia itself is a point-and-click adventure game series where steampunk meets art nouveau. It all starts with a toy factory full of automatons and a quest to find its rightful heir. All the games Sokal has created just have a certain feel about them. Anyways I for one, am already looking forward to a new Syberia sequel. Since there's still not much content from Syberia 3, I posted the trailer of Syberia 2.

Grim Fandango - remastered (pc, Playstation)

Another classic, but this is no sequel, but the original game remastered! Grim Fandango's style is called a mix between Casablanca and Día de Muertos. It's a dark comedy neo noir themed adventure game. And one of the new features of this remasterd version is that they have turned into a point-and-click adventure game instead of keeping the keyboard only controls.

###Fable Legends (Xbox One, pc) What has been exclusively on xbox for a while (except the first game), is the Fable series, a role playing adventure game series. In the previous games the protagonist was always a hero and you had the ability to "choose the path of righteousness or dedicate your life to evil". This is still a typical part of the new game. The difference however is that Albion has turned into an online world and now there are four heroes to choose from. Also, that there's the option to play singleplayer or multiplayer. Which is quite nice! Because after playing Fable 3, I felt like the game was too short. Another part that is quite nice, is that Fable Legends will also be available for pc!!!

So I hope you enjoyed my list as much as I did writing it :)
